Calculating Malaysian IPO Costs and Allocations with the IPO Calculator

 Introduction to IPO calculator

During the third section of these IPO posts, I mentioned some difficult cases between the IPO allocation cost and both of them getting and both of them getting allocated with same number of shares.

The purpose of this post is to provide readers with with an IPO calculator file.

The image Below shows the the structure of the IPO calculator.

It is a bit difficult to explain, so I will be using a so I will be using few examples from the third post to explain it again for you to apply IPO at the best.

Ever since Flexidynamics' IPO ended, we shall be using the Volcano Berhard IPO to make illustration, Which would look somewhat like this in the image below

Introduction to IPO calculator

The IPO price per unit of the Volcano is is equivalent to RM 0.35 and the issuing house shows Trivor Investment and issuing house(TIIH).

The key in 0.35 and Trivor Investment and issuing house(TIIH) of this IPO calculated file.

Based on the available balance that is seen inside the second row of the excel's orange area.

For example, we shall be using a value of 3000 as if it were my available bank balance.

You can now see the new changes that has been made to the three variables, which is shown in the green and black area below

Introduction to IPO calculator

As you can see above, the green areas shows the available number of shares and the capital required to apply for IPO in the most efficient way depending on your available bank balance.

In the case of the Volcano IPO that has a spare balance of RM 30,000, I would be subscribing a 5000 units of shares with a required capital of RM 17,500 and with some few additional funds in the bank account.

The black area is very similar to the data given in the green area with an added application of One lot.

By following the data in the black areas it necessary to check that you are being located at an extreme low level at a particular tier without falling to a sub tier.

As of the recent IPOs that are based on Teladan Setia also with Flexidynamic are showing a different tier list than their previous balloting results.

As an example, the former figures- 2019 IPO list could be between 10090 and 20082 units and it could change to 20099 to 30085 units.

So therefore you should be applying for an higher percentage of share according to the calculation given in black area above

Also, the blue area shows the different calculations of two different issuing houses of these IPOs.

The images below shows the examples.

You can also check for the minimum capital required to be qualified to apply for IPO in the lower range in their tier based on the calculation in the blue area.

Also, Inside the excel file, only the value in orange can be changed as you are not allowed to make any changes In other areas.
