Threats Against Human Rights Lawyer Ajibade Wazew Permanently Resolved.

The threat against the Ibadan human rights lawyer Ajibade Wazew has taken another dimension, as the father of the deceased girl Agboola Sunkanmi reported that, the ongoing threats against Ajibade Wazew has been finally put to an end.

It has been confirmed that the members of a secret confraternity, previously linked to these threats, have formally declined any intention of continuing harming him sequel to the power reason that due to the monarch in Ibadan and the sound warning by the new king to all the traditional leaders there are cleansing in spiritual confraternity Kingdom and there is shift in the title leadership and reviewing of the petitions on grounds which is one of them.

According to information obtained he said higher authorities within the said confraternity intervened decisively and disciplined the members who had been tormenting the lawyer, his family, and his property.

The group has since issued a public apology, admitting their conduct was unjust and assuring that no further danger will suffice.

The head of the said secret court confraternity has publicly apologize and declare that they are now guaranteed the lawyer’s from those members and incapacitated them movement without any threat and thereafter they banished them and incapacitated them and with strong warning.

The father of the deceased girl Agboola Sunkanmi stressed that the prolonged threats, despite the legal service rendered by Ajibade Wazew without collecting money would have done a lot of damages both to him, his family, deeply affected him psychologically, economically and even hindered his legal practice since April of last year.

Although Ajibade Wazew has not been seen in the public for several months, the public is urged to understand that he is no longer under any threat whatsoever.

Any future reports or sightings of him should not be misinterpreted as renewed conflict, as both the confraternity members and Mr. Agboola Sunkanmi have resolved the matter amicably.

This resolution marks a turning point, sending a strong message that secret societies and unlawful threats against human rights defenders has been put to an end while reaffirming that the Life of Ajibade Wazew who continue to stand for justice and civil rights is granted anywhere in Nigeria.
